2008 marks his 16th season in the NASCAR Cup Series with 475 starts, 20 wins, 6 poles, 111 top-five and 195 top-10 finishes.

Raced his way to his second consecutive Chase for the NASCAR Cup in 2007, finishing the season eighth in the championship point standings.

Became the first repeat winner at Texas Motor Speedway in April 2007, capturing his 19th NASCAR Cup Series win.

Named 2007 Person of the Year by NASCAR Illustrated.

Finished seventh in the championship point standings in 2006, marking his first appearance in the Chase for the NASCAR Cup.

Returned to Victory Lane at Dover in September 2006, ending a 176-race winless streak.
